Anyone coming to New Brunswick, Canada this Summer?

Hi all,

I'm wondering whether anyone is planning to ride in New Brunswick, Canada this summer?

My Editor (I write for a locally-based cycling webzine, as well as my own website) has asked me to conduct interviews with touring cyclists who are in the region. As he'd like to create a series of articles with these interviews being the focus of them.

If you're heading that way, and consent to a short interview (They will not be filmed, however, they may be recorded). Then please let me know and we can arrange to meet up and have a chat.

Thanks,

Jack.

I'll be riding to Lubec, Maine and spending a week there, which is right across the bridge from Campobello Island in NB. I usually ride over to Campobello a few times when I'm there. It's not really a bike tour, more like an extreme commute. I take the train to Portland from Boston with my bike and all my instruments, music, laptop, etc, then ride halfway and stay in a motel, then ride the other half. Lubec is a total of about 230 mi from Portland the way I go, so it's a couple of pretty long days.

But I do technically get into New Brunswick on the trip.

Ah, good to hear! Unfortunately, I'm currently located near Moncton (which is on the other side of the province - a journey of 436KM!)

Would you consent to an interview, if I were crazy enough to make that journey or am in the area?

you could contact www.tourducanada.com and their other group is tourtranscanada. They (Bud and Margot) conduct trans Canada tours every year. 2014 will be their 26th year. Their will be probably several dozen between the 2 tours which would be in your area early Augustish.

Terrific idea, Lucky! Hadn't even thought of that, thank you!

I'd be happy to do an interview if I can manage it and if you were crazy enough to make the trip. Unfortunately I don't have a lot of flexibility schedule-wise, since it's not actually a bike trip, but I do have some. Good luck with your project though!

That's completely fine, the interview itself may take - judging by my previous one with a cyclist who cycled across Canada in the winter! - about twenty minutes, maybe half an hour.

If you'd like to keep in touch, send me a PM and I can send you my e-mail address.

Cheers,

Jack.

I'd be interested in sharing my thoughts/experiences on touring in NB, however, I did my last tour through the province in 2012. The trip was from Quebec City to Grand Lake. I'll be back for a few weeks again in July with plans to get out on a couple of one or two night trips using the lake as home base.

Hi Pokey,

That's awesome! I'll send you a PM with my e-mail and we can converse that way, or if you'd rather, we can just converse via BF.

Thanks for the interest.

Jack.
