Video of my Great Allegheny Passage GAP Trip
Here is a short video of my Great Allegheny Passage GAP Trip I did with some close family members this past September. We rode total of 4 days on the trail from Cumberland MD to Pittsburgh, staying 3 nights (on Trail) at a Hostel, Motel and B&B. Be sure to turn the sound up, very moving... pun intended :-)

Fantastic video. Makes it all the better with a good group ride.

Every day a winding road
Very well done. I did not know it could be possible to make the GAP look even more beautiful than it is. Your video helps to make me remember how fortunate I am to have this wonderful trail in the area.
I would like to see a slightly longer version that shows the wonderful scenery a bit longer. A shot of the rapids and falls in Ohiopyle would be a nice addition. Bonus if you have video of folks running the rapids.

Thanks all for the kind words on the video. All the credit to my nephew Nick and his wife Ashley (both on the trip with me) for their creative efforts making the video, it was an awesome family bonding adventure I will never forget. The GAP is truly an awesome GEM of a trail!

I'll be riding an out and back 3-day tour this summer from Cumberland. Your video gives me a good idea of what to expect. Nice job.

I've done both. I did the Katy solo, credit card style (no camping) in Nov 2012. I drove to Clinton, rode to St. Louis, took Amtrak back to Sedalia & got a ride to Clinton. I did the C&O/GAP with ACA in Sept 2013. This was a supported camping trip.
Both are great. I got lucky with weather both rides. The Katy is consistent hard packed gravel. The GAP is a nicer surface. The C&O can be really bad, but was fine for me as there was no rain. The Katy has longer stretches with no amenities. The GAP is well developed that way. You get to end up in Pittsburgh which is a great place. On the Katy I rode past St Charles to Machens, then into Alton & all the way around to St. Louis which was awesome.
The only way to know is to do both!

Great video. I grew up in NE Ohio and, wow! Suddenly kinda homesick. Here in the prairies, it's just.........flat. Yuk.
Can't wait to get out on a new touring bike this year and ride!
