Trans Am - cycling trip

Hi, I am planning to do the classic Trans America cycling tour. It is the dream of my life... So I am looking for companion. If anyone interested. I am 36 years old. I have done many countless mountain bike trips. so doing a cross country.. or road trail I think it wont be a problem. so I am in good condition. but I like it doing slow and smooth, So if anyone interested, please. drop by. :) ;) :thumb:

Register and post a 'companion' ad here. Premier site for touring cyclists. Be aware that even if you don't find anyone with the ads, you'll likely be able to hook up off and on with other tourists on the TransAm.

I'd start in June or July if east bound and maybe early May if west bound. Those dates are probably the best shot at avoiding unpleasant weather and snowed in passes.

I'd also advise just riding alone, unless there is someone that you really want to ride with. You will meet folks along the way on the TA and will have opportunities to make friends and camp or ride with them. If you do arrange to ride with a stranger, I'd advise setting the expectation that you might split. I met a lot of folks that started out with someone and it didn't work out.

+1 on both. A few years ago I was on the Trans Am heading east from Missoula for about 2 1/2 days. In that short time I encountered at least 9 people heading west who had started in the east in May, including two guys from Scotland and a German couple.

I did a cross country (northern tier) in 97. I'm starting to get the itch to do another but not this year. The trans-am would be near the top of my list.
