ACA Route 66 Maps

Just an FYI for anyone who is interested..

I contacted ACA in reference to Route 66 maps as I'd like to do a Route 66 tour next year..

I was told the Route 66 maps are being worked on now and will be out in early 2015..

I would strongly recommend Cuba-Crownpoint-Gallup-Ganado-Tuba City-Grand Canyon over the designated route in western New Mexico and eastern Arizona as the latter has lots of miles on I-40 and many others on service roads right next to it. The above route allows you to experience many of the qualities of what Route 66 was 60 years ago - Navajo and Hopi culture, scenery, and light traffic, too.

Not to dis ACA too badly, but don't make travel plans until you see the envelope with the maps inside. I think spring 2015 is a year later than they had planned to print the maps a year ago.
