Does the axiom dlx disc work on bikes without disc brakes

New Cycle Axiom Dlx Streamliner Disc Rack Black Bicycle Bike Ride Sport Outdor | eBay

I'm about to buy this rack so I can install it on a 1980's Cannondale road bike using P-clamps on the seat stays and the brake threads on the frame bridge. This rack is intended for bikes with disc brakes, but I like it better than the other streamliner dlx rack because it's wider.

I'm wondering if the rack will be compatible using P-clamps? or at least compatible using the quick-release skewer instead of the p-clamps?

Why Wouldn't it? rather than speculate ride your bike to a shop that carries the rack and test fit it, 1st hand.

QR skewer mounts obviously slow down Puncture repairs when you have to pull the wheel , of course,

since you have to pull the skewer out of the rack mount tab.

You may drill and tap a hole in the dropout and use a bolt .. (not familiar with that bike make/model/year, Personally)

Hope you have taken a look at Axiom's official site. The dimensions in the eBay listing are as follows:

"H 5 inches L 18 inches W 17 inches"

They are obviously confused as to which dimension is width. If you go to Axiom's web site and look at the specs, the drawing indicates that the top platform is 100mm, or roughly 4", wide:

http://www.axiomgear.com/files/diagr...r-disc-dlx.pdf

For a frame of reference, the Tubus Cargo is 120mm, or about 4.7". IIRC, my Nitto Big rear rack (large size) is about 5" wide. So, the disc version of the Axiom rack is larger than the non-disc version by 40mm, but there are wider racks out there. The Jandd Expedition is another example. It's 6" wide.

Measured my Nitto. It's actually 5.5" wide.
