I need a 36H rear hub with a disc brake mount. Which should I choose?

Hi All,

Having trouble finding a rear hub. my axle spacing is 135mm, and I need something with good seals! I want to go with the Shimano Deore XT rear hub, but it's 145mm.

Does Shimano make a 135mm 36H disc hub? Is there another suitable replacement? I need that good sealing...

My budget is $80, so no Chris King. Sorry!

FH-M756A shows 36h w/bolt on disc. About $75. Universal shows $50 in black only.

Any Shimano (Mtb/disc) hub will be fine , and if is screws up most shops can replace it .

I want to go with the Shimano Deore XT rear hub, but it's 145mm.
thats the tandem hub axle , Deore will be good enough .. 10x1 steel axles are commonplace

Any decent bike shop can alter a 145 steel axle for a 135, its all about the spacers added to the left end.

I have a used 36 hole XT rear hub that in good shape that I'm not going to use. I also have a more generic 36 hole (probably Formula) disc hub front and rear that would work as well. PM me.

By the way, White Industries would be my choice over King. It's cheaper (relatively) as well.
