Compact, removable rear rack to carry 10-15kg?

Hello

(I wasn't sure which sub-forum to choose to ask, so figured this one would be general enough.)

I intend to use a folding bike for a week-long trip, and need to install a rear-rack to carry 10-15kg worth of stuff.

At this point, I know those alternatives:
  • Topeak MTX BeamRack, which would require screwing a wood board so the bag doesn't fall; Also, the BeamRack only holds up to 10kg
  • Carradice's solution (Bagman2 Support), which isn't as fast to install/remove and can also only carry up to 10kg, but should be able to hold a bag as-is
  • Arkel's Randonneur Seat Post Rack, which is supposed to only carry up to 6kg and would require a wood board too to keep the bag in place.

Are there other solutions I should know about?

I'm no mechanical engineer, but I would think a two-legged rack would be able to carry more than 10kg since part of the weight would just push horizontally against the seatpost:

Alternatively, the lower holder could stand on the seatstays and be secured with just velcro, and some piece of rubber to protect the stays.

Thank you.

how about a Extrawheel trailer with a 2nd 406 front wheel in it .. Bicycle Trailer - Extrawheel.com

you could build the wheel around a Schmidt Dynohub and charge your phone with it , in one of the panniers on the Extra wheel

no added stresses on your seat post . [specs on stock wheel are lower end anyhow.. ].

One Wheel Wonder: ExtraWheel's Voyager Bike Trailer : TreeHugger

https://www.bikeshophub.com/e-lees-ex...r-bike-friday/

the manufacturer is over there .. Poland..

For that weight, I think you should consider a normal rack that attaches at the rear dropouts.

If you want a rack that attaches at the dropouts that folds, look at the RackTime rack, I think the model name is FoldIt.

If you get the RackTime rack, you might need to get the extra long rods that go on the front of the rack. The normal rods that come with it did not fit on my folder, they were too short.

+1 or a standard style rack will serve you well with one of these.
