Real person at Surly - contact please

remove thread - resolution within canada has failed, so will look to the US dealer network. All other responses deleted to.

QBP currently has 45 Troll frames in stock in size 16/small, in two colors.

Maybe you should hop a bus to 'Merica and ride back home on your new bike.

They are Taiwan manufactured , so when they are out .. there will be delay until the next batch is finished,
and the container full set sail out of Taipei Harbor on a big ship, to Long Beach POE (most likely)
then trucked, or put on the RR, to MN.

Drop by , Oregon has no sales tax , so bikes bought here find their way north regularly..

QBP is a special order in the local shop .. since they are coming pre paid from the Importer.

I think QBP is the wholesaler(distributor)for all local bike shops in the US. Seems like the nearest competent, full service US bike shop(NY?) should be able to get what you want from QBP, or Surly, if they have it. But what do I know about such. Just for fun, I'm gonna call my lbs tomorrow and ask.

Sounds like Surly customer service needs a few lessons from Amazon.

Salsa and Surly are brands owned by QBP.. Problem Solvers their small parts brand .
PRC & ROC/Taiwan is the go to place for a majority of bikes and components Made ..
no matter what the paint says .

...shipping around the globe..

typical communications flows thru Dealers .. some ship from internet sales ..

Internet sellers can ship Surly frames , but not complete bikes ..

So perhaps a US sourced frame and fork can cross the Border ..

Me too.

I've called QBP and Surly (Surly is likely a few cubicles in the Bloomington QBP headquarters/warehouse) on 3-4 occasions and got an informed person to speak to, without any difficulty whatsoever.

OP, Surly and Salsa are QBP owned/managed/distributed brands. These bike frames and forks are made in the same Taiwanese factory, owned/operated by Maxway. Maxway is one of the best mass-producers of quality bike frames/forks in the world.

MAXWAY Cycles Co., Ltd.

I don't get what your issue is, you wanted a small Troll and they found one for you. They've told you who to work with, what are you not happy with?

I've dealt with Surly and NRG a few times resolving warranty issues or questions. I may not have rec'd a same day reply, but I always got the info/action I needed in a reasonable time.

Knowing these companies I work through a dealer whenever possible. That's how their system is setup.
