Video: Touring Canada's Arctic (Northwest Territories to British Columbia)
Hey, a while ago I posted a music video of my across Canada tour and somebody suggested that it was lacking the story.
I always wanted to share my touring experience with other people and I decided to give it a shot. Despite some of the harshest conditions I was always filming and I think it turned out fairly well.
This 1hr 10min video covers my 3700km/45day trek from the ice highways of Arctic Canada to British Columbia's logging roads!
PART 1
PART 2
Let me know what you think! I am planing to do the same (well... better!) for my trip starting in Alaska --> Great Divide Mountain Bike Route and all the way to Argentina.
Cheers,
iohan

I knew you were going on a huge adventure but I still managed to under estimate this journey! Well done Iohan, the video is amazing. How you were disciplined enough to film during those blizzards I will never know!
800 views for a touring movie after being up for just a day is seriously impressive!

Wow! What an amazing trip, and well done video.
I did some winter road trucking above the tree line. (The History Channel insists on calling it the ice road.)
You brought back some memories.

Glad you enjoyed the video. I am headed to Alaska in few days and will be probably working on another episode when the time comes.
Do you guys have any suggestions on what you want to see more of? what you don't want to see?
cheers,
iohan

Really enjoy your journey and your filmmaking/story telling. My wife and I have been watching bits every night.
We enjoy the interactions you have with the characters you run across.
Your music choices are nice and add to the enjoyment of watching.
Just one picky/technical thing: I wonder if it would be possible to get an off-camera microphone and put a wind filter on it? Sometimes the wind noice distracts from the audio. Just a simple foam cover can cut down on wind noise considerably.

very much enjoyed watching it, I don't think people realize how much time and effort is spent even doing just the filming aspect of this sort of thing. Being alone, setting up the camera, doing ride bys, going back, getting the camera and tripod etc etc. Certainly a lot of effort when you are already plugging alone working hard throughout the day and shows a heck of a lot of commitment on your part.
You certainly have made yourself an exceptional visual document of your trip that is so different than still photos that we usually take.
all the best with your new adventure and safe riding.

Watched your movie. Congratulations on your accomplishment. Your video work is better than this given the conditions . . The Cross Canada Project: Documenting a Bicycle Tour Across Canada on Vimeo

Awesome trip and a great video too. Many times videos of trips that I'm sure were amazing can be pretty boring, but you know how to make a really interesting video.

iohan absolutely brilliant. Boy have you got some courage to set out on such an epic adventure. I am more than twice your age but I would never have the grit to do what you are doing.
Stay safe and let me know if and when you ever get over to here in the UK
