Bike "hotels" in the US?
I'm not sure if this is the right forum, I apologize if it's not. I was in Italy last year and stated at Hotel Funivia. This is a cycling hotel, so most people there were cyclist and the hotel would organize rides every day for us to go on. It was amazing and a great way to see the area.
Are there such places in the US? I know Hincapie has one (Hotel Domestique), but it's super expensive. I'm thinking of a week long cycling trip in the US (I'm from Canada) in 2016 and so I am doing some research. I like mountains but am good anywhere. Thoughts? Thanks! David. |
Not where I've Been ..
IYHA Hostels Often have Bike Sheds to park your Bike.. and Hostels are less than Hotels particularly when in a Shared Bunk room rather than a Private One .. |
You might be better off looking at a tour group that does cycling trips. Adventure cycling and some other groups have fully supported bike tours out of B&Bs or motels. The lodging would not be specific to cycling, but the daily activity of riding would be. REI Travel also has some cycling trips. I have done two REI cycling trips in Europe and will likely do a third within a couple years.

At least one of the touring companies (backroads?) can supply you with a bike during their tours. IIRC, it's on the pricy side, but includes everything (meals, motels, lunch, snacks, SAG).
