clincher tire question
hey y'all, so with all the excitement around the re-opening of the dick lane velodrome here in atlanta, alot of us are going to "hopefully" start taking part in the fun. i just purchased a pair of continental supersonics clinchers, i know they are not useful to do any road riding in, but for a clincher they seem to be a good track tire (low rolling resistance, higher pressure, and good grip). i was wondering what other folks were using for clinchers on the track, and if you have ever found a good tire that could be used for some road training as well as track riding, a "dual purpose tire" if you will.

I used Vittoria Ultraspeeds, which no longer seem to be made, and now use Vittoria Open Corsas. Both of which are lighweight road racing tires with high thread counts, which makes them great for the track. But at 50 bucks each I'm not riding them on the road cause I hate getting flats and having glass chew through tires this expensive. Not convinced they could take the abuse of real urban riding.
That said I've also rented bikes with definite street tires on them at my local velodrome and it really didn't matter for training and beginner racing. So I'm sure you could find a happy medium.

What were you saying about Supersonics again?
