Best way to sell a track bike
I volunteer with an organization that receives donated bikes and fixes them up for a spring sale and donates the money to charity. Recently we received a bunch of bikes from a serious racer from the 1980s. Included in his collection was a Bianchi track bike that the organization won't be able to sell, so I wanted to try and sell it on my own and donate the money myself. Any ideas of the best place to do that? Also what info would a buyer be looking for with this type of bike?

Where are you?
If there is a track or velodrome nearby, that may be a good place to advertise one.
At this site, you can either write 10 posts and post photos, or put photos in your profile album and someone else will upload the photos here.

I'm in the Minneapolis area. We used to have a velodrome but I heard they tore it down.
I don't see an "album" within my profile.

Sorry that isn't easier. I don't see your album yet, but maybe something just needs to be updated.
On the other hand, you're almost up to 10 posts!
Sadly, my local velodrome also closed. But it is fun riding fixed gear bikes on the street, as long as brakes can be fitted.

Best way is to just bring it to a track with a "FOR SALE" sign on it and hang it where everyone can see. Since you don't seem to have a track nearby, selling it locally as a "fixie" might work, or selling it on a platform with shipping would get the audience of people who actually live near a track. Track bikes are lighter to ship, but they're still big.

Also, I tried to post this yesterday, but got a message saying I was limited to 5 messages per day. Not sure if that just applies to Newbies, but I thought it was weird.

Ahhh reminds me of the old days of riding around on track bikes with too big of a gear and no brakes in the streets...2007 me would be all over this bike. Good luck with the sale!

That's a nice bike and I think you should be able to sell it quickly. Since you are donatig the money, perhaps throwing a few shekels of it to the forum here (meaning join it) and list. It in the for sale. Also post in the C&V appraisal area.
Once you have an asking price, also try your local craigslist.
Good luck!

I suppose I should have just looked at the For Sale forum. I will join and post it there. Thank you for the advice.
