What happened in Mexico 68?

I wonder what happened in the track racing world in Mexico 1968?

The reason is because I've found a Japanese frame made by Kalavinka that says "Mexico 68" on the seattube. I'm just qurious what that refers to.

The Games of the XIX Olympiad were held in Mexico City in 1968.
- Japan won the third-most gold medals, behind the USA & the USSR (none in cycling, though)

1968 was also the first of many years in which the Hour Record competitions were held in
Mexico City; the record set that year by the Danish rider, Ole Ritter. (below)

Wow, thanks! So a track frame with "Mexico 68" on it might have been there then?

He's accelerating and "ankling" at this point trying to get the most of all of his muscles.
