The CXP30 came in both clincher and tubular versions. The tubular version is good to 170-200 psi plus. It's the clincher version that has the pressure limitation, and Mavic typically limits their clincher rims at about 130 psi. This is because the rim flanges can blow out from the lateral pressure imposed by the air pressure. It's rare, and rarely catastrophic (usually you get a crack that starts expanding and you have brake block clearance problems before your tire blows so you should have stopped to check it out). The CXP30 clincher rims, like the CXP33's, are very burly rims that put up with a lot of abuse (more than Open Pros, which are a bit lighter but are exceptionally fine rims as well). Several of us have been working to catalog rim and hub failures and have yet to see an overpressure failure on a CXP-series clincher rim, regardless of vintage. We have seen overpressure failures on occasional OP's and on a bunch of carbon clincher rims. You really have to work to blow out an OP, but the carbon clincher rims are in fact very particular -- not a place I'd go over 110 psi or so myself, regardless of the situation.
