Zipp Track 404s for Crits??

I have a set of track 404s and am thinking about running the front 404 for crits. I know that the front track ones are stiffer than the road 404s which is why I am considering it. I believe it is a 28 spoked front as well. I will try out with regular brakes (carbon rims) and if that doesnt grab well, will switch to carbon specific brake pads. Does anyone have experience with this set-up? Or any advice against it? Thanks!

The track ones use a different laminate, which tells me they aren't built with a braking surface. I would pass.

The laminate on the Zipp 360 rims (used for the track wheels) has an extra layer for greater lateral stiffness, but the layers used at the braking surface of carbon rims are different from the extra layer used on this rim. You risk delamination of the layer with braking, because the resins used are not resistant to the physical strain of braking. I've seen two track rims used as you describe and both developed delaminations in this way.
