Nitto B125 widths?
Hello,
Starting a new build for street and occasional track use. I've been riding a B123-39 on a conversion for sometime now. Picked it out of sheer vanity! (I know I'm shallow) To my dismay, I found I really didn't like riding the drops whenever I sprinted. I didn't feel comfortable with the far reach. I want to know if anyone recommends the shallower B125 drop bar. I think it would make me want to ride the drops a bit more as the 123's just put me in a slightly extreme position, and my arms aren't long to begin with. Also what width would you recommend? What are the pros and cons of riding with narrower drop bars vs. wider bars?

P.S. the stem I will be using will have a 90mm length and 65 degree drop angle.

I've never figured out why the B125 doesn't get any respect in this country. It's a fine bar and actually more versatile than the 123. Note that the alloy and steel bars in a particular style (125 or 123) vary quite a bit in dimensions.
If you like where you are on the tops, you are better off changing bars to get the drops where you want. If your tops are a bit low as well, then perhaps change the stem as Dubbayoo suggests.
You are riding an extremely short stem to be using 123's unless your flexibility or body geometry are quite unusual. Is your frame rather big for you, necessitating the short stem? If so, you may just want to build your flexibility (hips, hamstrings mostly) so you can take the lower position. Your discomfort may be more a matter of lack of flexibility than bad position.

b125 and criterium bars are awesome.
i got model 67 bars and they are good for sprinting but extended periods in the drops and in the saddle aren't much fun.
i don't understand why all these real little bikes have b123's.

I can't agree with you enough. I know, I'm one of those people! But man, did I learn real quick that comfort is waaay more important than sheer looks. I bet you 70% of the people with deep drop bars and stems rarely ride the drops and just have it for looks. Which is fine, but it's a waste to me. But that's another thread...
