local velodromes?

When I was in high school I used to ride on the Alkek Velodrome in Houston. You could go down on a Saturday, pay six bucks and ride one of the track's Romics all morning long.

Now, I'm in DC and I'd like to get on the track again. I think the closest track is Troxlertown. Anybody know of one closer?

Thanks,
Chuck

No...the closest one to you is the Lehigh Valley Velodrome in Trexlertown.

Exactly what I was afraid of. I noticed The Nicole Reinhart quote. Did you / do you plan to attend this fall's benefit (I can't remeber if it's taken place yet)?

I met her dad at the Wachovia race in Philly. We donated some stuff for the auction, and I was just wondering how things went.

No, I didn't attend the fall's dinner dance. There was a small write-up on cyclingnews.com, though. It's still there. It said things went very well.

When you go up to Trexlertown go for the weekend and make it worth the trip. Is out in the boonies so is a relatively inexpensive area to stay in. And the local rides are great. I do at least two of their local club rides there each year as well as attend the races at the velodrome. It is an excellent facility. After all, it has produced Marty Nothstein and, I think, Sarah Uhl. Not too shabby.
