I remember hearing about this a while back. I think that the first official notice of these plans were during the 2012 Summer Olympics site selection in 2002. Most folks figured the thing would die if SF didn't get the nod for the Olympics (which it didn't). I wouldn't hold my breath!

Any one have an idea of what a Hellyer/Kinssena style Velodrome would cost to build?
I would love to see such a facility in SF/East Bay thats accessible for people via public transportation. We don't need a fancy one like the sfvelodrome folks. Just a basic track thats community based, open to all and good enough for racing on.
Is this such a crazy notion?
