Goodbye Individual Pursuit, Points Race and Madison?
I just saw this article on BBC Sport:
https://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/othe...ng/8329011.stm
Seems like the cuts to track racing are starting to get a bit excessive. what are your thoughts?

I think it sucks, but I'm still mourning the loss of the kilo, which I think is a more exciting race to watch then either the IP or points race.
The IP is a major benchmark event, and an indicator of a riders future ability to transfer to the road (Wiggins, Boardman, Ekimov, etc) but it's also the most boring track event to watch.
Please bring back the kilo!

Thats crazy. I'm very sad to see those events go away. I think that this is a horrible move on the part of the IOC if this goes through.

They wanted to equalise the number of men's and women's track events without changing the overall number of medals. So a bunch of men's events had to go. Oh well. At least there will an omnium (most likely) which will contain a bunch of the smited events.
