Actually, it was custom built for a friend of mine who is the owner of Arundel products and is a road racer but has never ridden on the track. One of his team mates, however, is a national class master, so he loaned it to us. I'm the only one with a pickup truck, so I transported it there. I've just gotten back from the track, and it's really a great ride behind it, especially when a skilled driver is on board. It'll do about 50mph, so it's faster than I or anyone else can go with normal gearing. There was a photographer out there today, so maybe he'll post some photos. If so, I'll post / link them here.

Nice -- we have some electric derny's that are a lot of fun to ride behind, but they usually only come out for Keirins at big events.

Here's some photos of the derny at the track taken last Saturday >>> https://shop.willshootphotos.com/Supe...78927162_6vQmy

The derny driver is Jeff LaBauve, former national and world record holder in the flying 200m (~10sec flat). He now coaches me and some other masters sprinters. Two of the guys out there are Aron Seiken and Craig (Yo) Ericson who have been national master's 50+ team sprint champs for the last 2 years, and are locks to win again this year with Scott Butler as the 3rd team member. Also 50 this year is Al Whaley, who is a multiple world champion and holds the wr for the 750m TT. I don't have to worry about those guys cuz I'm in the 60-64 age group. In case you're wondering who I am, I'm the little guy with the white beard on the green Bianchi.

:jawdrop:

I've always wondered in the Keirin race, what is the average pace speed behind that?

In a Keirin, at least the couple I've done, the derny drops you off at 30mph.

Yep, I caught a couple of pictures of you, before I read your description of yourself in that post.

We do kerin's behind a Vespa. I hate the smell of that 2 stroke engine. I think the thing maxes out just over 30mph. Its enough to get us warmed up for a good sprint.
