I'm pretty sure that they have some open rides. I know some of the people on our Sat night ride go up there. I haven't been up there, since the idea of rinding my track bike to a track to ride my track bike on the track only to ride my track bike back home hasn't sounded all that great... I want to head up in the spring too...

i mostly don't want to enter competition because...you know, it wouldn't be fair for me to enter and steal all the glory singlehandedly from the mere mortals that normally compete there...

I used to ride there (way back when I lived in Mpls)-- it's an awesome track, and you should definitely go check it out.
They sometimes don't open until later than you would expect because of flooding in the tunnel under the track, but the best thing to do is call and/or email Bob Williams (contact info on the web page), the track director. He took over a little after I left, but he taught me to ride on the track. He's a very nice guy and very knowledgable and helpful.
