2014 USAC Nat'l Track Calendar
Just released:
https://www.usacycling.org/usa-cycli...k-calendar.htm
It's slim. Looks like a few events have been lost - Fixed Gear Classic, Hellyer Velodrome Challenge.

The background calender that is in the working group for track directors has a lot more big races than the NTC calender. The NTC is just a USAC showpiece, it is not every big race in the country.

Kilo SUCKS on a 400! Somehow more laps makes it psychologically easier I guess. Just looking down that long straight with still a lap to go-- the... horror...

I have been trying to get half lap exchanges so we might be able to find someone willing to ride 3rd leg after trying it once. At least for the unofficial events - I think the UCI/USAC rules say full laps so be sure to call starter for masters nats and find a partner who thinks kilos are fun for the last leg.
The good thing about the big track is that there is lots of room for madisons and warm ups are not quite as hairy as on the tighter tracks.

Oh, and I just realized that the #2 woman does an 800M effort. Not fun either.

So, the NTC announcement included this:
Except, I heard that the Marymoor GP was NOT going to be a UCI race, and then I also just heard that the Midwest Challenge is not going to be a UCI race (despite the fact that both are on the UCI's calendar). This is nice for me because I don't feel like coughing up the cash to buy an international license - especially if I don't need to - but, it's frustrating to me that there's all this changing and contradictory information out there.
Anybody have any word on why?
And - who here plans to race what?
"We are extremely excited about this year’s NTC," National Events Manager Tony Leko said. "The fact that each of the events are inscripted by the UCI means we will have even higher caliber racing this year than before. It should bring out the best track racers in the country chasing points on the NTC."

You don't need to buy an international liscense for a race that is on the UCI calendar unless you are coming from another country.
A few years ago USA Elite Nats was the UCi calendar

Not according to USAC:
Riders competing in UCI races in the United States must hold an international license.
Elite Nats are always on UCI calendars, but are still domestic races.

I thought that "UCI Inscription" just put it on the calendar so foreign teams would come- but looking into it, the director of LAV confirms you are correct, and we will need an INT License to attend
Funny- because one of the benefits of UCI Inscription is that US Riders get points for World Cup- which i got from 2012 and 2013 Elite Nats (with no Int License)

With the Grand Prix recently getting cancelled, it looks like the only races you will need the license for are Indy and LA… (marymore is not shown as being UCI on the calendar)
So if Indy gets dropped.. thats just 1 race..
[Edit: And Frisco, didn't see the * on that one..]
$105 to add international UCI to you License..

In Canada we need a UCI license just to do run of the mill regional events, so I don't feel sorry for you guys needing one for big races
