Training Sessions - Date and Times
Hello All,
I have been just reading until today, but I was curious if most of you had set training session times and if it would be a good idea to create a thread to help each other meet up at various times for different styles of workouts. I mostly do solo interval stuff, but mixing it up with others might be a good idea at times. If there were fixed/open training times posted here it might help new riders, in particular, know a good time to stop by the local velodrome. As I train at Alpenrose I am a bit spoiled in that 90% of the time our velodrome is open for anyone, and days like today are awesome days to spend at the track. However that sometimes makes for lonely workouts, which I often like, but not always. I for one do not have a set schedule and just try and get time away as I can.
What really got me thinking about this is that I ran into a solo, new rider today at the velodrome who didn't seem to be on a team and is converting from BMX to track this year. As it is his first year he seems to be very interested in learning quickly and while I am on an old man's team that is not looking for new blood, hopefully he can find some other youngsters to team up with for the season and for workouts. I don't mind sharing workouts with other riders, but I think he would do great with a group of riders to help him out on a more regular basis.
Brian R, I immediately thought of you and your team as a possible good match for him, but I did not get his contact info. His name was Ricky, and it looks like he wants to have some fun this year. He was thinking of contacting a coach so I pointed him in a couple of directions for that as well.
Hopefully I will post more instead of just lurking.

Didn't take my chances with the rain tomorrow; went today and it was nice. Word of warning... turns 3 and 4 are still sketchy. It gets shadows for most of the day in that end and doesn't really dry out. And there's stuff growing there. So, be careful out there if you go and don't push the traction speed. Missed Jamie but found Carleton out there right as he was leaving.

I like the idea of a central place to post training sessions. I end up training at the track alone a lot (like today), so this has appeal. Once the season opens up, there is a pretty good group of mongrels plus Kirk's group that trains Sunday at 3:00. Our team hops in during that time slot a fair amount.

I am still just doing road work at this point with some track diversions to keep me happy. Track work starts in May for me, I don't like to overdo it. I would love to jump into some different groups once that happens however.
