Virtual Training Software
This winter I will be using a smart trainer along with the TrainerRoad Windows application. I love TrainerRoad, and it is the first application of its kind with which I became familiar. I intend to use its structured plans for the majority of my workouts, but for some variety I would like to add another application with additional features. Specifically, I would like to find an application which will allow me to create a route on, for example, Google and then upload that route into the application to use as a workout. Another benefit of such a feature would be to preview a route before tackling it on the road! Currently, I am evaluating BKOOL, (CycleOps) VirtualTraining, and Kinomap. Does anyone have any recommendations?

I use VirtualTraining. A big selling point for me was that it's supported on Android tablets, so I didn't have to mess with a laptop and ANT+ adapters. I've only used the workout mode (I've created a bunch of my own for the various types of intervals I do), but I've been meaning to check out the virtual routes they have. I'm not sure how easy it is to create them but I know there's a pretty large library of existing routes and I'm guessing many/most of them were user created so it must be possible. Supposedly an upcoming update will add casting support for sending video to your TV without messing with an HDMI hookup but I haven't bothered with the video stuff since I'm usually watching Netflix when I ride indoors.
