imodium before a long race
Would there be benefits of taking Imodium before just before doing a long race, 100 mile mtb.
As in past I had some emergency bush breaks to get rid of the problem from GELs
I just want to avoid any emergency number 2 during my race.
would I be in any danger of taking one Imodium for this race
around 30 minutes prior to start?
pros and cons
thanks

Side effects can include bloating, nausea, vomiting, dyspepsia, constipation, abdominal cramping and drowsiness.
I would try other control measures, like changes in diet and on-bike nutrition/hydration, before resorting to Imodium.

One of my reactions to stress is digestive upset, and one Imodium in those situations is enough to settle things down.
And keep hydrated!

I think Imodium has specific instructions for it to work. Something like - take two tablets after first bout with diarrhea and 1 tablet for each additional. Taking it as a preventative is a crap shoot.
