It's been posted in a couple of places. This is a good example of putting polarized training into practice on an older athlete. That's been discussed a lot on this forum, but not the age aspect. Apparently it works at all ages.

His VO2 max is better than mine at 51 with a full regimen of asthma medicines - my best of 4-5 tests over the past years was 32, my worst was 23.
