I need GPS navigration in Zwift, I am always lost.

Ok, I think I need turn-by-turn navigation in Zwift because I think I am always lost and don't know which turn to take?

Like if I want to do a climb, should I turn-here or go straight?

Is there any tips on navigation?

Thanks.

I don't have Zwift, but if you are taking corners to select routes then you have a version I haven't heard about.

How can you be lost with Zwift? You remain in your basement/garage/workout room the entire time, don't you?

Doh! Obviously OP doesn't find his way around on the course. Say you select a flat route but then mid-ride decide you'd like to climb. Unfortunately the left/right turn icons are not clear where you're heading.

Zwift Course Maps and Details indicates which turns you need to take on a particular route if you turn manually. Watopia Course Map has a full size map of Watopia with all courses. Print it and mount on the wall or memorize it.

So are you saying that Zwift has an interractive aspect allowing a participant to change courses mid-ride, and it isn't just a streaming video feed? Interesting.

Correct. Zwift cycles through three different locations throughout the month and in each location you have the option of selecting either a course, or route by terrain type (flat/hilly/mountain). You then follow route defined turns but if you want you can manually select the left/right turns or turn around and ride the course in reverse.

It would be nice if Zwift displayed 'highway' signs with the current directional arrows to replicate gps navigators. The signs could be 'Zwiftified' to fit in with the graphical themes.

Or better yet, provide a keystroke to display a translucent mini course map and only show you with a moving dot. This way future turns could be pondered and then hide the map.

Like this? https://zwifthacks.com/zwiftmap-for-macos-is-here/

Works for windows too. ( I have the older version, linked somewhere in that page). It puts an overlay on your screen with a blue dot where you are.

You're welcome.

I wished the turn would say flat or hilly instead of photo that's not descriptive at all.

Yeah those little icons are not clear enough. Once you use that map i linked above you get a much clearer mental picture of where you are, and the second link that mephisto posted has a map that also includes 'directions' for the named routes. Those two things together make it easier to manually ride a named route.

I don't seem to have a problem understanding the turn icons; don't they show a mountain if you're heading into the mountains, and not show a mountain if you're not? For example:

I guess it probably helps knowing landmarks are are where and on which routes, though.
