cadence sensor for etrex 30

Hello people. Have had an etrex 30 for several years, and get on well with it wanted to add a cadence sensor, and just bought the current Garmin Cadence Sensor only to find it is not compatible although the Etrex 30 is ANT+, so I am confused. Can anyone recommend any other compact cadence sensor i could use? Thanks

It could be that the etrex doesn't know about cadence-only sensors (different ant+ profile from a combined speed/cadenece sensor). If the Garmin speed/cadence sensor doesn't work you're probably out of luck.
