That's what I do. I eat whatever I'm in the mood for. I believe my body tells me what it needs (I get cravings for nothing but lettuce about every 10 days or so). I remember when eggs were bad for you, and coffee (yeah, like I'll stop drinking that to live an extra 3 days), and food coloring, etc etc etc. With my luck, I'd finally get on this great "nothing bad for me" diet, and get hit by a bus the next day and never reap whatever benefits may have been mine.

As Al Bundy once said, "The roach was here before us, and will be here after us. And you know why? Because they eat crap."

well, that's a reasonable point by the Big Bundy, but the problem is we haven't been eating crap long enough to fully adapt. Maybe in another 500,000 years nothing WILL be bad for us

Nature's Path cereals are the best. I prefer the Optimum Zen "For the Power Within" Right now I'm on their raisin cereal. That and bananas.
