a pound of flesh

absolutely my last piece of random speculation tonight:

so how 'big' is a pound of human fat anyway? someone must have found out and written it down somewhere.

had to ask, or i would never have got to sleep.

Well, if you take a 2 liter coke bottle and weigh out a pound of water and stick it in the 2 liter coke bottle, then you'll know.

Go to sleep...

Human fat tissue has a density(and this is purely off the top of my head) somewhere aorund .85g/ml...meaning it would take up a little less than 85% of a pound of water

stop by almost any gym and they have a yellow nasty looking 5lb fat block as an illistration, my guess would be about a 1/5 of that

Human flesh actually varies in density based upon fat-to-muscle ratio. Typically a pound will be about the size of a small water-bottle. Did you ask Hannibal?

Slightly smaller than a pound of butter, which would be four sticks.

I've lost 40 myself Actually, it's probably more than that for both of us; muscle is more dense and weighs more, and I'm alot more muscular than I was when I started out!
