Bike Forums - Medical Information Sites

As we all know there are thousands of sites on the internet providing a wide variety of information from completely useless and erroneous to factual and helpful.

For my Kinesiology class the students are required to write a research paper on our nutrition. When asked if we could use the internet as a resource for our research, we were told that we could, but we had to be careful.

Government sites were OK, as are official sites associated with Universities. People's personal webpages are not OK.

Then we were given these two sites as recommended resources:

Medline Plus: http://medlineplus.gov/
MedlinePlus will direct you to information to help answer health questions. MedlinePlus brings together authoritative information from NLM, the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and other government agencies and health-related organizations. Preformulated MEDLINE searches are included in MedlinePlus and give easy access to medical journal articles. MedlinePlus also has extensive information about drugs, an illustrated medical encyclopedia, interactive patient tutorials, and latest health news.

SIRC SportDiscus is the world's leading database in sport, health, fitness and sports medicine. For over 30 years, SIRC has been providing access to fulltext and bibliographic references in such areas as sport medicine, physical education, coaching and training, arts and history, corporate wellness, engineering and health and safety.

You may also find these sites a valuable resource when you encounter various physical ailments in your quest to become a better cyclist.
