My list as of now:

Magnesium/Calcium/Zinc
B Complex
C
Potassium/Magnesium Aspartate
Rhodiola
Caffeine
Powerbar recovery drink

I'm thinking of experimenting with the following:

Taurine (pill form)
Phenylephrine and/or Pseudoephedrine
+ Caffeine
All three or four as a cocktail.

Moderate doses, so as not to have ill-side effects.

I realize that two of these are banned substances so save the lectures and or rants please.
Personally, I have no problem with dopers, yes, I am being for real.

My opinion is without a doubt in the minority, no need to point that one out.
Some will say it is an ignorant, reckless, and ridicuous opinion, yes, I have heard all of these arguments. Cheaters, etc, unfair, etc, I got it. I recognize the valid arguments and pov's on the anti-doping side, and yet I still have no problem with doping.

It is a non-issue for me, I want to see great athletic performances, super performances in fact.
I don't care if the athletes are using ped's to achieve those top levels of performance, period.
Long-term negative side effects, and death are possible and have been realized by some athletes. No one forced or forces them to use ped's. It is the users choice, and choice is a wonderful byproduct of freedom. With all the available information at our fingertips today, it is unlikely that someone using a ped would not know the side effects.

They may choose not to beileve them or understand them, but again, their choice. So I have no problem with someone overusing ped's to the point of death. it is very sad, but as with any substance abuser, they made a choice. Todays world is full of whining, self-absorbed, people who reject all forms of personal accountabliity. It's all about me seems to be their mantra. Hey if you choose to rob a bank and get caught..."You chose poorly"
If you start injecting heroine and od..."You chose poorly" etc...
The whining liberals of the world want you to believe that you don't have to resposible for
your own actions. Quite frankly it is sickening.

As far as the dopers go, yes it is unfair to those who do not choose to dope, unfair in the sense that non-dopers would probably be unable to match the ped users performance.
Also yes, it is an artificial performance.

Forget the role model argument too. Parental responsibility is all I will say, if you want to let the media teach and influence your kids...that is your decision, albiet probably a bad one.

ped's have been around for a very long time, in all forms of sport, and most likely
will continue to have a presence in the sporting world. That is the reality of it. A lot of people will be offended by my statements, a lot will be pissed off by it, some will be in denial as well.
Like I said, it may be an unpopular opinion, but none the less, it is my opinion. The beauty of living in a free land is that I can express these opinions and listen and read others who differ and disagree. Freedom is the best right we have, free to choose, free to act. The decision(s) rest within the individual.

Thanks!
Yes, I use both Platinum and Gold, although the difference in the two is just a few ingredients. I don't see much difference in switching between the two, although I do feel like I have more energy on the Platinum. If you stop taking it, you WILL notice a difference... You're probably just so used to taking it that you don't notice it.

The Nighttime Recovery stuff is the shiznit. I don't think I would have been able to do 13,000 miles in 2005 without it!! I ran out of it a couple months ago and haven't had the cash to go crazy at Advocare lately. I ride 3-4 days a week instead of the regular 5 days... I don't feel like I'm recovering as quickly... perhaps it's the lack of my Advocare "Nighttime Recovery" or that I just turned 39.. heh. I'm going to get some more on monday and I'll let you know if it makes a difference after a week or two.

none, maybe I'm the only one? I do not take any supplements, just eat regular foods, and I've been averaging 15k+ miles a year since august of 2000 and I'm 41 years old

Yesterday I rode 25 miles with about 600' of elevation.
Pre-Ride juice as follows:

15mg of Phenylephrine (Sudafed)
30mg of Pseudoephedrine (Sudafed)
1000mg of Taurine capsuls (Vitamin Shoppe Brand)

Noticed a positive difference in quicker warm up ability, I usually need
8 or so miles to get going over 17-18 mph, I felt good after 5 miles.
The one 3 mile hill I climbed, usually I can only manage 9 mph, I was able
to stay at 12 for the first half than trail off to 11 mph for the remainder.

I averaged 16.4 for the 25 mile loop. I plan to redo the same 25 mile loop
without taking any of the above stimulants, as a controlled test. Probably should
have done it the other way around, but we'll see. I can always do a double control
starting off without any stimulants then comparing it against taking the stimulants.

Prelimanary results though tell me that they did have a slight positive effect on my performance. I felt a bit stronger going up that hill.
I could also up the doses in the next series of tests. But what about side effects, could
be damaging in the long term. I'll also have to keep an eye on my heart rate when
on the stimulants. The next set of tests I will also include caffeine, but for the first set
I want to see the results (if any) sans caffeine.

I can report that I was up until 2:30 am and not by choice...I think it is because
I did the ride rather late in the day, 1:45 pm. I should have started in the am.

I am putting down 3 grams (not milligrams) of Niacin a day. It is a supplement in the Pharmacy but my sports Doctor told me to take it to keep my blood lipids down. Yes, it is performance enhancing because I'll be performing when I turn 100 instead of dying 20 years sooner. 20 extra years of performance.

Does anyone here use No-explode or any other nitric oxide enhancers?

My daily regiment: is a multi-vitamin and 1000mg of glucosamine or MSM.
Pre-workout: Small serving of peanut buttered toast or Oatmeal with a slash of 2%milk and a pinch of sugar. One scoop of whey protein which is a half serving. and if early morning, My daily regiment is also included(multi and glucosamine)
Mid Workout: Plenty of cool water or vitamin water, cliff bar and/or power goo carbo stuff, forgot the brand.
Post workout: Full serving of whey protein(2scoops) in water. And if available salmon/lean chicken breast with steamed veggies or a subway 6grams of fat menu if in a hurry. Before sleep I eat cottage cheese and an apple, or at least a glass of milk so I have something to feed my muscle recovery while I sleep(at least 7hours, and less and you're cheating your recovery). I need to get some L-glutamine to aid recovery.

This is all ideal and what I aim for, obviously I slack off but from what I've been doing I've maintained good cardio and great strength(6' 170 small medium-small frame) from both power lifting and biking.

Nothing because if you eat a balanced diet

you should not need to

unless of course you are at pro level.

I do, I use Superpump 250 ATM. This stuff works great. I will be switching to Vapor next month; I don't go more than 3 months on one type.

The results are in:

On wednesday the 17th I did the same loop at 11 am. Had relatively the same breakfast.
No supplementation at all. Warm up was slower than previous test ride w/stimulants.
I actually felt slow, but surprisingly I averaged 16.53 for the 25 miles. I was kind of shocked.
The uphill section of the ride I managed about the same 10-12 mph. So I made up time on the flats/rollers. So goes my theory of the above mentioned supplements.

Although, I did not mention that on the 14th, there was quite a bit of head wind
gusting to 15mph, so the weather site stated. Wednesdays ride there was virtually no wind.
So I wonder if maybe the wind gusts slowed me down the 0.13 mph. It's so marginal, it probably did. It's so close to call though.

I will do more tests, this time no stimulants first, then taking them on the
second run. I'll do the same dosage in the next test. Then for the following set
I will up the dosages. This will take some time.

I can still find 60 caplet packages of Bronkaid at local pharmacies (e.g., Walgreen's) - they do require ID and signature, and I think you're limited to one purchase per month. Bronkaid contains 25 mg of Ephedrine sulfate and 400 mg of Guaifenesin per caplet.

1 caplet of Bronkaid
+ 1 200 mg caffeine pill ("Jet Alert" brand from Target)
+ 1 82 mg aspirin
= old school (and currently banned) ECA stack.

I really doubt that...sounds like BS or a scam to me (pretty common in the field of supplements/health).

And your link appears to be bad, or the website is down.

Check out Vemma. It is great stuff and you can get a FREE cycling jersey.

One 2 Oz serving has the nutritional value of 4 grocery bags of fruits and veggies.

Most multi-vitamins could make the same (misleading) claim...at much less cost.

I take a multi-vitamin in the mornings along with fish oil or flax seed pills for general nutrition-to hedge againts vitamin loss if/when I miss meals and heart health. I (usually) have a glass of chocolate milk along with a pb+J/dried fruit/something carby in the afternoon, also, 1 tbsp. blackstrap molassas (for it's high potassium content. If I'm really training, I like Endurox immediately following a training ride or event. Other than that, I just try to eat/drink right as much as possible. That's about it.

Other than a healthy diet...

Some form of multi-vitamin. Could be a pill or something like Emergen-C and/or Barlean's Greens. This doesn't enhance performance noticeably but it's like added insurance to make sure I have a healthy diet.

Fish oil. About 2g EPA+DHA from Recoup90, Barleans, or Carlsons. Highly recommended for general well-being and speeding recovery.

Seeing the thread has been revived, I take...

Zinc
Calcium
Magnesium
Vitamin C
Vitamin D3

Thats it apart from a daily dose of Coffee. I prefer to take the above seperately. I seem to be sensitive to multi-vits - a lot of them make me just feel tired or have strange effects. Centrum for example makes me feel breathless and slow, and always seems to make my body hold 2-4lbs of water. Must be an ingredient in them that doesn't react well with me.
