Nutrition

Does anyone know what sort of diet is best for a racing bike enthusiast? Currently I eat once every 3 days which has made me rather skinny and decrepid. Currently I look like Mr Burns but with long hair and glasses. I also appear to be rather susceptible to infection so could this be something to do with my diet?

Sounds like that Paleo diet is working great for you. Try carrying a club, and cut one shoulder off your shirt.

If you eat every three days and bicycle - then you're probably starving yourself!

is that all you can do is 3 days , you need to do at least 4 without eating and riding at least 50 miles a day then you will really see improvements, oohh i for got you should though in some intervals at least 2 days a week as well.

I eat 3 days worth all at once and I look like Homer.

At least I'm not decrepit.

You're either pulling our leg or incredibly poor. Nobody is that stupid.

Read his other posts and you'll have your answer.

My family is genuinely poor, we can barely afford food. Fortunately I can usually rely on my friends to give me a snack bar or something if we get really strapped for cash

I was JUUUST about to say something like that.

unless you are using a public library's computer, you cannot be THAT poor if you can afford a computer PLUS internet fees.

Because I'm a medical professional however, I will give you my advice.

If you are only eating once every three days, you need to stop biking. You are simply not giving your body what it needs to perform that level of physical work.

If you are TRULY poor, contact me and I can put your in touch with a healthcare provider in your area who can help you, and point you to where you can get a good meal.

I'm on one of my school's computers and so can only get on at limited times and could never even think about owning our own computer at home. My grandad could barely afford my racing bike for my Christmas present last year but I'm most glad that he did manage to cobble enough money together, it's my pride and joy

Troll...

Hi

Even something like porridge (rolled oats) is cheap and easy to prepare. It also high in fibre and is one of the low GI foods, perfect for cycling
