trainers - flight deck

Anyone have any experience with moving a wireless unit on the fork to the rear so that whenusing a trainer, you have access to cadence, spped and distance? Otherwise, training is kind of limited if the front wheel stays still and I get no data. Thanks.

I did this about a month ago.
My "other" bike has a Vetta RT77 wired computer so I bought Nashbar's cheapest wireless unit and installed the pickup on the rear wheel. Most wireless units have a transmission range of about 12"-16" so I had to mount the receiver on the top tube. See the red spots in the picture. Works great! When winter is over I'll remove the pickup and computer and put it away until next fall.

Thanks. I sort of did the same thing. Got a Vetta RT77 and will wire it to rear for speed and cadence, and will remove in the spring...

Though I have a Flight Deck, I rely on my Polar S510 for cadence, speed, distance (and of course HR) on the trainer. I relocate the speed sensor to the rear wheel as you guys have noted. Not an inexpensive solution, but I already owned the Polar when I started using the trainer.
