Missing w/end training

Due to some uncontrollable circumstances, I will not be able to get in my normal weekend training:( and Im looking for a way to restructur my training schedule so that I dont lose the good base ive gained and try to be able to get to race fittness without training at the weekend for a few months.

My normal training(now) is

Mon: off
Tue: fairly fast group ride 2hrs
Wed: easy recovery 1-2hrs
Thu: fairly fast group ride 2 hrs
Fri: off or easy recovery ride
Sat: 4hrs group ride, rolling terrain good pace(gradually been picking up the pace heading towards the race season)
Sun: 1+1/2 - 2hrs steady

I was thinking about maybe having something like the following.

Mon: Similar to group ride, 2hrs
Tue: recovery ride 1hr
Wed: 2hr ride, tempo,sprints etc.
Thu: endurance 3/4hrs
Fri: recover
Sat/sun off.

Wasnt too sure about doing a long endurance run after having done tempo or interval like training the day before?

Any suggestions would be great.cheers

I'm no expert, but you said 'any suggestions.' Some of Chris Carmichael's suggested training programs do sprints/power intervals, followed by an easy day, then a fast, varied group ride, followed by long endurance on the next day. So, if you could do tempo/sprints on Tues, easy Weds. Fast group ride Thurs, endurance Friday. Static recovery on the week-ends.

Come to think of it, here's another suggestion... send your question to Rick Sorenson (palmarescoaching@s1webdesign.com) at Palmares Coaching. He's a former national us masters champion, and he'll answer a question or two a week free. I've consulted him a couple of times, and always gotten good info. His web page is always good for inspiration, too. No connection... just a satisfied beneficiary.

Good luck!
