Hello,

Maybe I haven't been looking at the right brand, but it seems polar doesn't carrry an HRM that lets you record multiple zones. Here's what I mean;

- setup 3 zones (several of their watches have this)
- do your workout
- after the workout, it'd be great to record how much time below/at/above the target zones. It seems all the watches record is time in your target zone. Is this correct?

Does anyone know of a HRM that allows you to define multiple zones, and then track time/workout in each of say 5 zones?

I'm fairly certain the Garmin Edge with HRM will do what it is you're describing.

I know from personal experience the Polar CS200cad and the S725X will provide the time spent in each zone. Many of the user manuals can be downloaded from their website.

I know that the Polar S210 will give you time below/at/above each of the three zones. My Polar RS200sd actually gives you five "sportzones" in addition to the three zones. However, I've never gotten the reported times from the three zones to add up properly, so "zone" must mean something different than what it does with the S series.

Don't the higher end Polars do this? They may not tell you on the wrist unit itself, but if you download the data into their software or someting like PC Coach, it should break it down for you. Plus you can program your workouts into the wrist unit so it will alert you when to increase or decrease your heart rate.

I have a Polar (150 I think), and I asked this question a while back. And the answer I got was "no".

But, if you set any of the three ranges as your "middle" --- perhaps your primary "target" range, then at the end of the workout, it will give you the time spent in THAT range, plus the time outside the range on both sides, which effectively gave me what I wanted. Most of us, I would think, don't have three separate ranges that we're interested in on any one ride that aren't contiguous with each other.

A Polar S720i or S725i will let you download your data to a computer and show you the time spent in however many zones you wish to define.

thanks for the input. the trick is getting a model that enables you to use the PC SW. I've ordered a new s720i off of ebay for 200; Not bad!

Really, I wasn't aware of that; humm.. That sours the deal somewhat. I'm going to check w/the vendor to see if that's actually true; I wasn't aware of it.

Hmmm. My buttons on my 720i cracked and I got it on Ebay and Polar replaced them NO problem!
