Honey as a GU replacement part duex!

Well, the honey and granola mix has worked for the last few weeks, no problems. I still loose a little of the zip and the end of the ride home, but I think that it's mostly due to the increase in tempratures.

Sure beats live snake ;) !

It is somewhat not that great a taste, but it beats most power bars and the like. And the cost is good enough.

William,

I consider this a "bike fuel" topic, so I'm going to add mine to it:
Pizza, Chinese food, Burritos, beans and rice, spaghetti, er...wait,
this list is getting too long!

Actually, my central favorites (I don't care who laughs, I won't change--but I might try something new) are whole wheat bread/natural peanut butter sandwiches, skim milk, apples, bananas, carrots, tomatoes and orange juice.

And of course, pizza, Chinese food, Burritos...

I just got back from eating at KFC, i pocketed about a dozen (or two) little honey packets :) It was a fair tradeoff, the chicken tonite sucked! :p Anyhow, i think i'll keep a few in my seat bag when i ride, Gu = $1.49 - Three packets of Honey = $Free

skim milk,
I've read this, but was never sure, but as a fuel, doesn't milk have lactose, which I think is supposed to slow your muscle reaction down. I know that when you rest or recover, milk is ok, and your muscles create lactose for rebuilding.. but.. ?
