Stair Stepper

Any one use a stair stepper to strenghten quads?

It helps, but it helps best when you stand upright, and don't lean forward on the bars......at the gym, I see people all the time leaning all their weight forward, and just moving their legs up and down....support your whole body with your legs (and arms only for balance), and you'll be doing a lot better.....

I find it does a much better job exercising your glutes, rather than your quads. At least if you, like me, take "full" steps (knees as high as the machine will allow).

Very similar to a "step up" that can be done with just a riser which works the same muscles used in cycling.
