This is me:
Age 16, tennis player, weight 128lbs. 10k off the couch run time: 41:00
Today, Age 39, weight 152lbs. 10k run, moderately trained: 52:00 plus change.
Never let yourself go. Even 2x week during your most trying years will prevent years of trying to play catchup.
It's time again for AYCE sushi.

Further future: 61, 157 lbs. Ah, youth! At 18, I rode a century in 6:30. Today I ride a double in 12:00. A riding buddy who's 68 drops me on steep climbs. I don't know where the edges are. Haven't encountered them yet. 400k coming up on Saturday. Looking forward to it.

Yeah, and I used to run a 12.9 s 100 meters and a 26.1 200 meters. I could run a 6 minute mile with no training. I don't even think I could run a mile at any pace(beyond walking).

It's scary to think what 2-3#/yr post college will add up to at not too old an age. I'm going through tailoring/resizing a few items from a recently deceased uncle who had apparently the exact same size skeleton as me (hat, shoulders, feet, arm length...) but 60-90 extra # (over ~20 extra years)... It's freaky to picture the different kinds of volumes that can be packed onto the same frame. Anyway, gain 3#/yr from here onward and I can still catch his weight at age.
