Nighttime snacks

Just curious, does anyone besides me eat a small 100 - 175 calorie snack after dinner? I eay 6 small meals a day and consume my 6th. meal around 9:15 pm. It usually consists of oatmeal with kashi cereal mixed in or yogurt/bluberries and kashi cereal. I ride early in the morning and find this before bed "snack" helps me in the morning. Thanks.

one package of instant oatmeal is 100 cals by itself.

anyway, i dont eat a small snack i eat a large one . the entire no eating late thing is a myth. its about total calories and not when you consume them. i dropped 70 pounds in 2006 and ate a post dinner snack (8 to 10pm) on a regular basis. if it works for you then do it. later.

This is definitely true if you are working out after dinner. If you do not eat something, you are starving your body for 8 or so. It is wise to have a recovery snack after that.

I usually eat peaches or nectarines, or some low fat ice cream/fudge bar.

If I don't take a snack on @ around 9pm, I'll be up at 1am to find something to take the edge off. Only has to be a granola bar or something, but has to be something.

I had a burger from steak and shake last night. Upside, it had everything on it (yes, even mustard relish) and I washed it down with a YOGURT shake... not reg ice cream (that'd be unhealthy) and then went straight to bed.

I've been awake since 11 and now I'm STARVING. What am I doing wrong?

Maybe I'm just a traditionalist, but I really enjoy celery with peanut butter. That's become my nighttime snack of choice.

Around 8:30 to 9:00ish I usually have a cup and a half of carrots with a tablespoon of low calorie ranch dressing or just an apple.

I like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich with some milk at night, or celery with peanut butter.
