what HRM?
Hello all,
I'm considering a HRM. I have a computer that I really like so I guess I don't need a HRM with cyclocomputer funtions. Will the S210 do the job?
I would like to get the best HRM I can, but don't want funtions that will either make its use unnecessarily complicated or that I just won't use.
Does the S-720 have other functions that I would miss?
Thanks,
Mike

It depends on how much info you want to keep track of. The 720 will track laps (99), altitude, cadence, temerature, power as well as the normal functions. All can be viewed with a PC connection.

Take a look at Sports Instruments HRMs.
I bought one in 2002 and realyy like it. All the features I need.

The feature I like best is Average Heart Rate. It's handy for calculating Anerobic Threshold and calories burned.
I have a few HRMs and there are things I like and don't like about each. The Sports Instruments (late nineties model) has the functions I like but the buttons are difficult to engage. It's also bulkier than my other HRM.
My Vetta HRM/cycling computer is pretty good but it to is bulky and on rough terrain can fly off your bike.
My Polar is the best made but doesn't have Avg HRM function. The transmitter straps are also as expensive as some HRMs. Luckily my transmitter chest straps from my other HRMs work with the Polar ...
I'd like to have more functions and the ability to chart my entire workout but it's hard to justify shelling out that kind of jingo. It would be different if I had a training specific goal that was a priority to me.

I just got the s210 last week and it lets me do everything I want including
setting up intervals and keeping track of laps. I didn't want one with the bike
stuff either so that is why I got the s210. It works great for me so far.
