Total Calories Burned vs Calories Burned Solely on Bike

I've been using the following calculator to track my calories burned and it gives two totals for calories burned. I was wondering whats the difference between total calories burned vs calories burned due solely on bike.

That difference is the amount of calories your body burned itself. We burn calories even while sleeping.

Look up basal metabolism rate and resting metabolism rate. No matter how much you ride, the number of calories burned will be low compared to total calories burned. That's one reason that exercise alone is a crappy way to lose weight.

Yes, we burn, say, about 1500 calories a day just living our relatively sedentary lives, but then if we go for a ride for an hour, we burn 500 calories on that ride, so our daily total would be just shy of 2000 calories burned for the day.
