saddle sores

Every time I go riding and I start getting around that 30 or more miles, I get a saddle sore. Always in the same spot and I tried every saddle adjustment I can think of. I have a Alias saddle, which is suppose to be one of the best and I wear PI shorts. I went and got a bike fit and they said my right leg is about 1/4 of an inch shorter than my left. Last night I moved my right shoe clip up about 2mm, but I haven't tried it yet. Does anybody else have any idea of what else to try.

Do you use a chamois lube like Chamois Butter? That seems to help me. I only use it on rides of 50 miles or more though.

New saddle. They are very personal and even if 100 people like them it doesn't mean you will.

Cleanliness is a major factor as well as what's been mentioned above. You need to make sure you're getting your shorts off ASAP after a ride, getting into the shower and scrubbing everything well.

Failing a shower, at least get the shorts off and clean up with baby wipes, or if you're a little crazy, alcohol prep pads. You won't get saddle sores nearly as much if you're keeping bacteria away from the irritated area.

I heard that if you place a shim under your cleat it might help. When I bought my cleats they came with shims to help compensate for the short leg issues. Let us know how it works. I bet your LBS will have some laying around if you need one.

Thanks for the replies guys. I do shower right away when I get done riding. I tried wearing the liners that go under the shorts and I'm going to get some bibs from performance and see it that helps. I tried Bag Balm as well and I'm still getting the abrasion. I'm really thinking it's the shorts. The PI shorts have about 5000 miles on them. They look OK, but who knows. I have to pair and I switch every ride, but the seams are in the same place, that's why I thought I would try the bibs. Thanks for the replies and I'll let you know what I come up with.
