Strangely I just looked this up. Check out the list at the following link. http://lpi.oregonstate.edu/infocente...als/potassium/

Potassium Chloride salt in your water bottle. I put in a pinch of "Lite Salt" which is a mix of NaCl and KCl

Mangos and blackstrap molasses are both high in potassium.

Great thread! I'm allergic to banana, too. Do you have an allergy to natural rubber latex?

One thing that has worked for me to a limited degree is keeping tabs on my sodium intake.

Prunes (or diluted prune juice in your bottle), apricots.

You'll note that dried apricots are near the top of the list, and bananas are way down at the bottom. I will, on long rides, bring a small bag of dried apricots with me.

And here's another one:

I like salted almonds on my rides, and as you can see from this, they are quite high in potassium, and of course the salted ones are high in sodium too. In addition almonds have a heap of vitamins and minerals.

Between the dried apricots and salted almonds, I'm covered for electrolytes and vitamin and mineral depletion.

They share similar protein structures. Other likely culprits are avocado, kiwi fruit, papaya, pineapple, & nightshades. In the 17 years I've been latex allergic, I've developed cross reactive allergies to banana, avocado, kiwi fruit, papaya, eggplant, and raw potato. It's the fun kind that results in one's airway closing up, eventual anaphylaxis, etc. :(

If your looking for something for while on the bike, HEED will do the trick for you.

HEED doesn't have much in the way of electrolytes. I'm a fan of HEED ... but I get my electrolytes elsewhere.
