Got up to week four and had to stop. Years ago I threw a muscle in my back and after four weeks of these things it's killing me. Massage therapist said stop and see how it feels, ahhh relief.

My son and I are in week three. We missed week 2 , but repeated it. We are doing the 200 situps routine at the same time. I usually do a set up pushups, then he does a set, then a set up situps, and he does a set, back to pushups, and on it goes.

For those of you who completed it, could you start to "see" results with your physical appearance?

It won't make you look like Arnold, but it should give you some definition in the chest/arms. The lower your body fat, the more you will probably see.

Like Konrad, I too do okay until the final max out set. I have to rest for a few seconds at least once to do the final, say 24 push ups of the 5th set. I may move to trying to go every two days, instead of every other day. I am riding a lot, I am doing the 200 situps. I just may need more rest.

I like Konrad's approach though. It isn't a race.

Anyone off the program but trying to maintain? I got to week 4 (always on the hardest column), but could never actually finish it for real. But I went from being about to do 20 push-ups to being able to do 50, which I'm pretty happy with. Now I try to do 50 push-ups every couple of days just to maintain.

I have also added pull-ups as well, using one of these: https://www.walgreens.com/store/produ...uid=sku4252735 (it's a nice pull-up bar because it doesn't require any brackets, drilling, or hardware). I can only do eight pull-ups, though!

This program is great but I can see myself having to repeat a week. It gets a little crazy the longer you go. But I can definitely tell that I am getting better quickly.

Push-ups should not hurt. Try taking a few days off. It might also help to stretch/warm up the shoulders and arms a little first.

Thanks Roja, I try to warm up by doing a few pushups standing up but leaning a bit towards the wall, a low intensity version excersice to get me going.

I've taken a few days off, we'll see how I go tomorrow. I've been stuck on the same day/week for 2 weeks now...

I tried the same day again today and it worked great. No soreness. I warmed up a little bit more, I think the rest helped alot.

I'm really trying to get past the third week.
I am doing all the workouts with 60 second breaks which makes moving from one day to the next hard but also steps me up a lot and gets me prepared for the exhaustion test.

Good luck guys.

Cheers,
Chris

Good news- I am now up to 60 (previous max was 54)! I haven't done the program since Christmas, but I still try to do a set of push-ups about 3x per week.

So finally did day3 last column of week 6, so i guess i've finished the program. Took me more than six weeks to get here of course. Now i'll wait a couple of days and see how many consecutive pusheups i can do. It better be 100...

100 Pushups

I am trying to achieve 100 pushups by Mid May. I have a timer in my workroom that beeps every minute. I complete 15 pushups every minute for 30 minutes on Mondays. On Wednesday's I complete 10 pushups and 2 negative pullups (hold each for 8 seconds) every minute for 30 minutes. On Friday or Saturday I watch TV and complete 8 pushups every minute for 60 minutes.

I test myself every 2 weeks and add 15 pushups to my total each test. Mt initial test was 30 PUs. I am no doing 90 PUs after 8 weeks. I want to keep going to 150 PUs at one time.

My cycling has improved because I am stronger, especially my core. I can sprint faster and get up to speed from a stop faster than anyone in my group now. I also complete 500 body squats a week.

^ Good stuff. One weird thing though, the last couple of push up sessions, at the end of the last reps where iw as really pushing myself to complete them, immeadeiatly after i got a headache towards the back of ym skill, was pretty uncomfortable. After some minutes it passed. No idea why but i don't like that.

I am just trying to maintain at this point and stick with it. My goal is to do 1000 push-ups in May. We'll see how I do...

I'm starting today. This is a good way to start a formal pattern. I'll report back!

I am in my 6th week and now I am pushing and pulling every other day. I uppped my supplements, especially protien, and started taking a new one (ARX). My muscles are sore the day after but fully recovered the next day. When I started I needed 48-60 hours between workouts. I am mixing up my hand positions a lot now doing push ups and elevating my feet. I have ordered a weight vest. I want to keep making my workouts more challenging.

This sounds great! I'm gonna do my initial test tonight. I think I'm gonna try and do the 200 sit-ups as well (that's where I really need the work!), is anyone else doing the sit-ups? and if so how is it going, any noticeable physical differences?

I think the pace is a bit too optimistic. I did 26 pushups in my test (age 44) so I was suggested to start at week 3 in the high range. After the first day I dropped back to the middle range of week 2 and went from there.

I'm ok with it taking longer than 6 weeks to get there. If I need to do a week or 2 twice, no problem.
Tonight is the second day week 1.
