How many experience an "endorphin" rush?

Do you experience an endorphin rush while riding on the road, on a trainer, or with other types of exercise? I'm not sure if one really exists in scientific terms, but I hit one (the first in a long, long time) while on my elliptical tonight, with a live track of Claptons "After Midnight" cranking on my iPod and Bose headphones. God what a rush and that pushed me harder. Haven't had it on my bike yet.

I've heard it as "runner's high." I usually get it popping over hills on the bike, or at the sprint at the end of the run. Not that I've done either recently. GJ to you

i thought this was a given. i ride my bike because its like one great big giant "O", if ya know what i mean. its not like that for everyone? its way harder for me to get the runners high when actually running, but on the bike, its almost immediate and long lasting. rarr!

must be a good saddle you're riding on .

Whenever i finish a ride i feel a lot more at ease, as well as happier. I don't know if this counts as "the rush" you may speak of, but i get a general good feeling after a ride, especially if i rode hard.

I think I've only had one or two on my bike and while swimming, but when I felt it, it was like a second wind. I felt great - I was faster, stronger, and I kept a higher intensity with less perceived effort =)

I get every now and then on long rides - 80 plus. It's great, you feel you can peddle foreever. Kind of makes you forget to drink and eat.

Believe me, I have never felt a high from running. Biking is pure bliss--- even when suffering...

I liken it to a "rush" of energy, and true high. I rarely get it running on the road, but on my treadmill I have at times. Not on the bike yet, but then again I'm still building a base and trying to climb my damn hills around me.

I don't know if it is a high persay but I am addicted to gettign out there. Afterwards I feel like I was on a mini vacation to unplug from life. I feel happy. If I get a brake through in my speed or really attacking that climb then I am exstatic. I also love that feeling of a second wind. Makes me feel like I am getting somethere.

I have yet to experience the biking high but I know for a fact when I run on my treadmill that I get an endorphin boost everytime my HR hits approx 165-175 bpm..... It makes you feel like you run forever.

I just feel normal after a ride or exercise. But if I don't ride or exercise I feel anxiety and am easily irritated.

i typically feel very chatty and motivated to get more things done post ride. Of course when I first started out all I wanted to do was lay down and rest but now that i'm a bit better conditioned when I get home from a long ride I usually want to clean clean clean.

After doing a REALLY HARD training session, I get a pretty incredible endorphin rush. It's truly amazing; you suffer for an hour, and feel amazing for hours afterward.

Endorphins for 50% of "Why" I ride (the addictive part of cycling), 25% for the suffering & pain (the perverse part I still must love or I wouldn’t cycle), the other 25% for ego and pride.........well, maybe 20% for P&S and 5% for the spiritual aspect.

I get it after running, after a shower, and vegging in this computer chair.
