Define some terms for me

I'm not a training newbie by any stretch, I just get really annoyed when various experts can't seem to agree on the meaning of terminology that is commonly used to define the level of work-out effort. I thought we all knew what these were.

Lactic Threshold
Anaerobic Threshold
VO2Max

Can someone just clearly define what these terms are, and how I can roughly determine each without going to a lab (well, except for the second one... Koffee's 2x20 AT test is the benchmark for that). Some say the first two are essentially different names for the same level of effort. Some say not. I thought the second word described what happened when you reached the third thing. Can anybody help?

I'll give it a shot.
LT- The point where lactic acid begins to build in the muscle tissue. Burning sensation in the legs.
AT- The point where you begin to burn the the glycogen stores in the muscle.
VMax- The max amount of oxygen your body can take in and transfer to your muscles.
I'm sure someone with more knowledge can make corrections/changes.
