cycling training workout questions
new to cycling, have been riding for a few months, i do mtb and am doing cyclocross this fall. I run in my spare time as part of training for soccer and staying in shape already...but as far as bike training ive been training about 5 days a week...usually ill go hard for one day rest the next, etc. When i go for rides there usually around 1 hour long or so depending on the day...I was wondering if I should be doing intervals and doing long rides as well. Even though im doing cx and mtb, i wanna do road and track races once I'm 18. I'm hoping that someone could help me out and give me examples of what there training routine/s are...My goal is to eventually be a cat 1 rider or an above average amateur (i'm 15 now). Examples of good training schedules would be great.

Find a team with an experienced JUNIORS coach and a good program. Check out the team...they should be willing to answer any questions/comcerns both you AND your parents have.
Developing a good foundation of skills and bike handling through MTB and cross will carry over to road riding.
I know that doesn't really answer your question, but a good coach can answer and address your training as it relates to other sports and your development in general.
