Riding/Training in AM & PM... good or bad?
During the week, the only workout I can guarantee is the 6:AM spin class. The afternoons can be unpredictable with work, family, etc. So, as much I dislike the spin class, it's like my "three squares" boring but, well, you know.
Today, for example, I did the spin bike for a while (not a bad workout actually). But, if work cooperates, I'd like to go out this afternoon and do some hill repeats, etc.
So, the question is - how do we know when we're overtraining? I know it's okay to run in the AM then ride in PM (or vise-versa) but is it "okay" to ride in the AM then ride in the PM? Of course this isn't everyday or even back to back days. I'm lucky if I ride/spin 4 days/week.
Thanks...

Splitting your workouts is fine. Overtraining is more a combination of your fitness level, the intensity, volume and frequency of your workouts. Generally speaking, you want your longest planned workout of the week to be in one session the others can be split.
