Upper calf pain.

Likely from a saddle that's too high or too low?

pain, cramps, or soreness?

While riding, or afterwards?

Soreness, before and after, more than my other muscles get. Kind of a recurring thing. If I don't get enough water/electrolytes that day, it may or may not cramp (never cramps otherwise).

Right up high, almost near the back of the knee?
If so, it could be from too tight hammies and/or a too high saddle

anymore info on this? I have been getting cramps in this area when I go real hard and high cadence and not so much for regular rides.

Not sure this will help, (I'm still a bit in the experimental mode) but I was having similiar problems mainly with my left side. It just seemed my calves were working hard on the downstroke to keep my foot in position. I moved my cleats back just a few mm and it seemed to help stabilize the foot. Not sure what all other adjustments I should make from this move. I can always go back as I marked the original position. Just a thought.

massage and warm baths - be sure your bike if fit properly - your hips should not be rocking side to side as you peddle
